XC70

Not condenser, evaporator replacement is like replacing the blower on a 240. The entire dash has to come out. Blower and heater core are simple on the 850/70 cars.

The V70 is an upgrade to the 850 series. The V70 has window controls in the driver and passenger doors.

If you find a car to test, before turning it on, slide the cabin blower speed to auto and vent selector to auto, set the temps to 74-76F on both sides, and then start the car. If the LEDs on the AC button and recirc button blink, there is an error in the ECC system.

Do not buy a 1993 850. The 1994/5 850's have diagnostic boxes under the hood. The 1995 also has an OBDII port. The 1996+ cars require a scanner to retrieve codes and some systems will not work with ABS/SRS.

If the dash temperature display is in Centigrade, the owner probably pulled the battery cable to clear error codes and the check engine light. Look for another car. The seller is not honest.
