automatic climate control fan S70

Hi everyone,
My climate control has started acting up recently. When in auto or when the speed of the fan has been set manually on the slider the fan will slowly speed up and slow down, kind of like the tide of the ocean. Twice now the fan has just stopped turning regardless of where it's set.
I hear the compressor cycle on and off when the climate control is on, the fan just won't spit out the air. Then from one day to another it'll just kick on.

So what's going on? Is the entire climate control unit done for or is/are there any submodules that I can begin to trouble shoot.

I'd hate to be caught in an Indiana winter without a heater fan... :-/
