Yes I just went through this removing a Meyle HD made in Turkey L Lower control arm. That as it turned out failed with the bushings at the frame getting chewed up in short order.
First Remove the Nut from the locking "Pin" whatever it is.
Then knock the locking "Pin"/soft Home Depot style hex bolt out with a
hammer and a punch.
Then the stud from the ball joint wouldn't release.
I used a large straight screwdriver with a big fat tip, I dunno what #
and it worked to spread open the split clamp and get the control arm out.
Look at the split clamp and you need something to open it just a tad.
Then the ball joint stud will fall out easy as pie.
I just looked and the tool I used was a Stanley 100 PLUS 006-10 IN. 66-150 USA
It's a bruiser with a hex at the handle so you can crank this guy with a wrench.
The funny thing is that I found this guy while on my way to work in Boston.
I was stopped at one of the dozens of traffic lights strategically timed to waste the most time and gas. And there it was just sitting there on the road.
I just had to open the door. Strange what you find lying on the road.
If I had better vision I would have found a full set of Snap-On stuff!
This was years ago so who knows if Stanley still makes this guy.
You gotta have something to do it. Grind the tip of one of those cheap harbor freight pry bars or get a big hex bolt and grind a wedge on the end of it, something you can give a little whack with a medium ball pean hammer, and something long enough that you don't smash your fingers.
(Don't use the BFH) :-)
