On our'95 855, removing the bulb from the glove box light did not stop the discharge - I had to remove the entire light.

My SRS light came on also after I was done.

Who reads a book inside the glove box anyway?

BTW - if you are messing around with your glove box, the latches are known to fail - there is a post about releasing it by drilling a small hole and pushing a pin - the location can be seen if you study the latch - I marked the proper place on each of our three 850s. It must have worked, none of ours failed!
