XC90 intermittent electrical failure - CAN bus related? XC90 2004

Did you solve the intermittent fault on your XC90? My XC90, also 2004 plate also cuts out intermittently. Also seems to only do this when it's hot (i.e. last summer a lot and this summer). VERY VERY dangerous as it cuts out when Im driving, suddenly. Always in hot weather a few minutes after I have started to drive it. Several Volvo dealers (and others) have been unable to fix the problem. Very annoying since it still starts up without hesitation and drives perfectly except for this fault, despite having over 130K on the clock. If you or anyone else can help please let me know. (I am currently driving my husbands Merc and the pain in my hips as a result is beginning to stop me sleep!!!!!)
