2003 V40 S40-V40 2003

As stated, maintenance history on a 244,000 mile car is essential.
Our '01 S40 has been an education for me. I too am an old school RWD Volvo person. Though I don't share your view that turbos are nightmares.

Anyway, I've grown to like our 183,000 mile '01. But it is difficult to access engine components and can be frustrating to work on. No idea about the heater core.

As for what to pay for the one you've described? It sounds like it has many issues to address. If you've got the money and time, go for it. But I wouldn't pay more than three hundred bucks for it. In other words, I wouldn't pay more than I was willing to totally throw away.
