Transmission Control Module: Xemodex

As I`ve posted a few times over the past several months, wife`s `03 XC70 has been experiencing tranny slipping & hard shifting sporadically. At times, it will go weeks with smooth shifting & then, wham!, hard shifting. Just got an exasperated phone call from commuter wife; "Is there anything that can be done excluding a new transmission or a new car??"
So....just did a Google search & found that Xemodex now offers a rebuild on TCM`s for $400. Any possibility that this might be a "cure" for the XC70 or are we grasping at straws?
