Turbo Lag/Surging S80 1999

My 99 S80 T-6 is having a surging problem, when under hard acceleration. The engine surges as it is accelerating in 3rd gear. The speed ranges from around 50mph to 80mph. It feels like the turbines are to blame. Any ideas? I have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow.

By the way, how often do find the wheel alignment going on the S80?
