Yet another CD changer related question S70 1998 GLT

We have been enjoying the 6-disc changer ever since it was installed in the glove box last month. The CD changer button on the head unit (on the dash) is now being used for the 1st time after 3+ yrs. Unlike the rest of the buttons on the head unit the CD changerbutton has been difficult to depress (stuck) when not used for a few hours and needs to be pushed in more than a couple of times to get some movement. The button does work and engages the CD changer except for it's spring mechanism which seizes somehow. Is there an easy fix?

Again, much thanks.
