Heater Core ?? 850

Dave,

It could be the heater core. Mine had a slow leak for a year or so and I noticed the carpet under the driver side floor mat was slightly damp, also there was a slight antifreeze smell and a very slow reduction in the coolant level.

The replacement was less difficult than I thought it might be. The key thing is to drain the coolant (I used the radiator petcock valve) before opening it up to minimize spillage. Some coolant will spill so have a plastic garbage bag handy to catch everything. Once the replacement is complete dry everything out and warm up the engine to operating temp for a while and check for leaks. Do this before replacing the panels, etc...
