Re: Check out this chump 850 93

Hmmmm

3 faults out of all the components in a new car.

I once did Quality improvement seminars - that number is not bad.

Car magazines in Europe annually lists the typical faults on new cars - they are often in the 15 to 20 area for new models (babysickness they call it).

Funny enough - if you buy an "old" car (a model that has been manufactured for several year) that number falls - and the less advanced the model is, the less faults. (Logic - right?)

But maybe this person never owned a new car before?

And the noise in the radio was not an acute problem.

So we are down to 2 faults.

Brakelight could have been fixed over the phone...

but I have noticed that many Volvo dealerships over here in the States are very relaxed about the technology updating of their mechanics.

Some of the stories on this board makes my hair stand up -

but Americans seems to take it easy and accepts the rip off it represents.

As I see it - it is not as much the car as the Importer of the car that is the problem.

But on the other hand -

maybe Ford prefers to let Volvo die slowly - by not doing anything,

not demanding Quality control on delivery and service -

the Jaguar built on Ford parts is a hint - especially the price.

Oh - by the way - I'm married to a Ph.D. -

some of them tend to act like if they are übermenchen.

Other people might have reacted different :)

Looking at this board tells us a lot about the Volvo owners too -

people who are more concerned about what they drive and the technology and safety in it - well, it will naturally create a lot more focus on these parts.

Compare this to a car sold for its size, color or status of the owner.

Volvo's are doomed/blessed to have the customers they have.

Take a look at the language on other boards for other cars..

Need I say more?

My cars runs exactly like I treat them -

run them hard, or don't maintain them - and they will cause me trouble.
