rust protection 850 94

Hello,

My car doesn't have any rust and I would like to keep it that way.

Volvo dealers said that professional rust protectants applied by eg. Rust Check are damaging manufacturer apllied coating. On the other hand independent garages are doing their own rust protection using different chemicals. What is your experience? Whom to trust?

Another idea... I will travel trough N.Mexico this summer. Thaought that would be better to aplly rust protection there because of the dry climate.

Am I paranoid? I live in Atlantic Canada and there is no lack of humidity in air even on a dry day.

Thanks for any relevant info, thoughts.

Adam
