2005 S80, 2.5T, 135K: Occasionally the doors seem to lock themselves when the car is just parked in the garage or driveway. It has done this intermittently for years. It may go almost a year without doing it then it might do it a couple times within a few days span. The car's battery is about one year old. The batteries in the remotes have probably never been replaced. I'm trying to be careful in handling the remotes to eliminate the possibility that I'm accidentally pushing the lock button. We had a rash of these errant lockings when there was a Volvo S80 visiting the neighbors across the street for a few days. Problem subsided when the visiting car left. Coincidence? Just yesterday it happened again without any other Volvos in sight (besides my V70 but it's always there).
For all I know it will likely go several more months now before another occurrence. Does anyone know, can these lockings be caused by an outside interference or is it generally something within the car or remotes themselves. Or might it just be "one of those wierd things" that we can't explain?
