2004 R AWD S60 2004

My beloved S60 is starting to show signs of weak seals on the Haldex rear drive unit. Upon closer inspection, it was clear because the unit looks greasy and dirty. No signs of any fluid leakage on the garage floor, so not significant, yet. My main mechanic in the OC told me that there are special tools required for a repair, which he does not own, so he passed on the repair but suggested a repair at the dealer.

The car has still not reached 100,000 miles and runs like a champ. I've had very few repair costs on this car with only the usual stuff like brakes, CV boot and spring seats, needing attention. Compared to my 850, it's been a dream.

I've checked other Volvo forums and have found no postings of anyone having this same issue.

Anyone else had this issue?

Thanks.
