V70 wiper washer V70-XC70 2004

2004 V70 non-turbo 2.4 litre, 5 sp.

Yesterday the windshield washers (squirters) works. This morning nothing.

Had power to the washer pump motor when the rear washer switch was pushed. No power when the front washer switch was pulled.

Swapped hoses to get the front washer working.

A couple of questions;

-How does one pump supply 2 locations?
-I'm guessing the washer switches can't carry the full load of the pump.

Will be trying to sort out what isn't working. Would appreciate any insight.
