Odometer reading from OBD1 850 1995

I'm thinking about buying a 95 850 which has low km as well as a pretty low price considering the km. I'm concerned that the odometer gear had broke at some point and was later fixed which is why the cluster is showing only 60000 km or that the cluster has been replace with one that has a functioning odometer with low km.
My question is when getting the km from the OBD1 port, does it give a reading of the cars km from the computer or does it only give the reading from the cluster that is currently in the dash functioning or not? In other words, if the seller changed the cluster, can I still get the cars original true km from the OBD1?

Thanks for any input.
