Transmission Mode indicator light stayed on V70-XC70

2000 V70 SE w/AW-55 SN; 210K miles

Transmission Mode indicator light: That's what the owner's manual calls the orange Up Arrow indicator light that goes on when any gear other than D is selected.

Anyway, the Up Arrow stayed on yesterday after upshifting to D. This was after climbing a hill in 4th and sometimes 3rd gear for about 4 miles.

The light cleared after shutting off and restarting. Hasn't repeated after that.

Any ideas?
