OBD1 A3 codes 141, 142. 850 1995

1-4-1 is faulty pedal sensor, shorted to supply or ground.
1-4-2 is faulty stop lamp switch, open circuit or short.

Did you wash the brake vacuum canister? My daughter went through a water puddle and sprayed water all over the ABS and brake canister. Once the area dried off, I cleared the codes and they stayed cleared. I then drove the car to 20mph, so that it does its self-check and then the ABS light went out.

The brake pedal position sensor is attached to the rear (actually front) of the brake vacuum canister, right above the ABS module.
