Car won't crank, what is the reason? 850 1995

This happened twice in two weeks. I would turn the starter on and it would not crank. The simptoms are exactlty as if I had my transmission in D or R. After touching the shifter, it would crank and start, as always. Is this about that infamous microswitch, PNP switch or something else. I am not really concerned about it, but I plan a few long trips and want to know what to do if this happenes somewhere 300 miles away from home.

I can not reproduce this problem by simply wiggling the shifter. It just happens when it wants too. Please advise.

Yuri
