Turn/Hazard signal failure V70-XC70 2000

Have just experienced failure of L&R turn and hazard lights.

Lamps light but don't flash. Have looked in the owner's manual and find no reference to flasher unit location. Internet search yielded conflicting info.

Was hoping to learn that there's an old-fashioned bi-metallic thermal flasher located somewhere--or perhaps an updated electronic type in a typical cube-shape.

Have seen a few at reasonable prices on aftermarket websites that claim to be for my 2000 V70, but I'm suspicious.

I've also come across an expensive multi-component PC board that (apparently) resides behind the hazard lights' pushbutton switch.

Finally, I also came upon a component-level fix (capacitor replacement) that I am capable of handling (once I locate the board and extract it, that is!).

I'd be grateful for any knowledgeable advice on this matter.
