fault code 144 ignition 850

Thx bb and klaus for ideas. Will try cleaning contacts on the 5.1 module...was wondering if the module the 144 is the ignition module on the firewall. Further websearch indicates the code is a wire problem. I did clear codes a couple weeks ago and it's back. Oddly, my tune up did not improve mileage which trip computer shows to be 19.8 mpg and 27mph average. Used to be 24. Hoping it's just because of extreme cold temps this winter. I did jam a wood dowel in the cold air intake to keep it open as well. I guess there is no good fix for the poor wax capsule design.
