Hand brake "broken' 850

1996 Volvo 850 GLT, 221K. Parked on a rather steep incline yesterday, pulled up the hand brake as I normally do and felt the opposite end of the brake lever "snap". Free play, no tension at all, so no hand brakes. Stuck my fingers inside of the fuzzy bristles and I could feel at least one piece of broken metal in there. Pretty sure I'm going to need to find a handbrake at the junk yard (I sure hope), but what else is there in there that may have broken that might also need replacement? Need to find a donor before I even start fiddling around with it. Anybody experienced repairing/replacing the handbrake? Thanks in advance.
