Relay type whirl sound left front corner of engine compartment XC90 2008

Recently hear an intermittent but more often then not a whirling noise in the front left corner of the engine compartment. It is in or under the intake area and throttle body (assume that is the throttle body area). Have yet to pinpoint the source. At this point only pulled the black plastic cover over the inlet/throttle body. The computer module on top of the throttle body seems intact and not the source of the noise. Any thoughts, comments, or advice would be appreciated. It would be nice to have manuals on these rigs. Always bought the factory manuals with I bought a new car. I guess that all went out the window with AllData.
