My opinion is the car looks good from the photos, especially for its age. I've got a yellow one that's my daily driver and a black one that's a parts car (for now, until the yellow one quits). Both had several big spots where the clear coat had peeled and needed paint jobs. The yellow one (repainted purple) has almost 300 kms and the black 160 kms. I'm assuming the car on Craig's list has been parked indoors and better taken care of and that's why the paint looks way nicer. The odometer seems reasonable to me but in the ad it says 195k miles so is it claiming kilometers or miles? Id assume miles because you're in the U.S. I think either km or miles could be reasonable to me though.
The interior shows quite the difference in appearance between my 2 cars on the other hand. The black car has a way nicer looking inside most likely because it has been used less. I would ask to see inside photos of the car on Craigslist.
In general the car seems like it's in great shape but I bought both of mine for a combined price of $4200 cdn. Again, the Craigslist one looks way better than both of mine combined.
If I wasn't driving one now and I was close enough to buy it, I would. They are really fun cars stock and can be made very fast for relitively cheap if you want to modify/tune them. My wife drives a XC60 T6 and I prefer driving my 850, "old beater" as she calls it any day of the week.
The T5-R IS the best Volvo ever made in my opinion but I may have a slightly bias opinion because I drive one. And have a back up one.
