VADIS update after trans oil change S70 99

My son is in the Volvo mechanics school(yeah!). He was telling his teacher that I had changed my trans oil to which he replied that the adaptive learning ability transmission control module should be updated after an oil change.My son informed me the trans could burn up in time.Not very likely but it could.There is apparently different sensors that compensate over time with the oils wear an tear.My son will look into it more for me,and I was wondering if anyone has further information on this issue.
