Re: Wheel Question 850 96

Okay, here we go. A 215/40/17 will be wider and taller than a 205/40/17 as 215 is the width of the tire and 40 is the relation between the sidewall and the width. So 40 means the side wall is 40% of the width of the tire (215) millimeters. So which is better? Probably the 215/40/17 because the side wall will be wider than on a 205/40/17. The problem is you may get rubbing problems but I doubt anything serious, just annoying at times. The 205/40/17 would have a more narrow sidewall and very prone to tire or wheel damage from potholes etc.(are you sure its not a 205/45/17) thats what I have on my 97 850R??? Well anywho, I reccomend a 205/45/17.......the end
