Had the same think happen to me last winter. THis problem would go away when the trans was warmed up a bit. I flushed it out with Dextron III (not synthetic) and it solved the problem. I used about 13 quarts in the flush (iflushed until I was SURE it came back red). Figuring about $1.50/quart, it cost me $19.50. Compare that to $149.50 to $188.50 for Amsoil and it's a pretty easy choice for me.
