S40i wheel lug nuts S40-V40 2010

Daughter's 2010 S40i is 500 miles away, so I can't put my own eyes on this issue. She is having trouble with lug nuts for the car's Spartacus style aluminum wheels. One lug nut is missing and two "don't have the cap that goes on the nut." She is having a difficult time using the combined lug wrench/jack handle on the nuts without caps.

Questions :

Are these two piece lug nuts?

If the cap comes off and is lost, will the lug wrench still fit the hex nut on the wheel to loosen/tighten?

Without seeing it, can't quite understand how the wrench, cap and lug nut function together.

I suggested to daughter that she should plan to buy at least three new lug nuts and caps. And maybe also buy a better lug wrench.
