Flex brake line replacement 850

Well, I took off the left front wheel and noticed large cracks in the rubber coating. Time to replace. Unless talked into it, I will continue to use the rubber lines instead of the stainless steel.

The line to caliper connection has been easily loosened and tightened as a test. The hardline connection could be a problem. I managed a 14mm and 11mm flare wrench (sears) but cannot get the hard line nut to turn. Suggestions??? PB Blaster is soaking now.

There is a lot of rust proofing material on the bracket.

When installing the new flex line, what is the general practice so that the line doesn't get twisted? Screw the flex line to the hard line and then put the caliper connection on by turning the caliper? Or connect the caliper end first and then connect the hardline hoping that nothing gets twisted?
