Just how bad is the oil leak? I suppose it's worth a try to get some cleaner to
help rid the engine of the sludge and then switch to synthetic with the Lucas RMS treatment, but don't expect results before maybe 1K miles.

Lucas claims less miles to stop the leak than what happened here.
I still have some small tranny oil leak that's some annoying, but it's not making a mess on the driveway.
