UPDATE - Interior smell

WE live in the country so there is no shortage of mice here. At one point, we had an awful gagging smell in the XC70 which turned out to be a large & nasty mouse nest in the spare tire area. I scubbed it out with a mixture of bleach & water & sprayed it & other areas of the car with a mixture of peppermint oil & water. It seems to work well, certainly smells better. I had read somewhere that mice don`t like the smell of peppermint. We also set traps in the car as it`s always an ongoing battle. It seems that the mice like Volvo`s since I`ve never had a problem with mice setting up house in my truck.
