Dan,

I had the same code show up on my 1994 850. Near as I can tell, the problem could be either the EGR valve or the EGR controller. I have purchased both and will try the valve first; first cleaning, then replacing if that doesn't do the trick. I'll let you know any difficulties that I have. If you learn anything, I'd appreciate you letting me know as well.

By the way - are you having any issues with excessive "blow-by" - exhaust gases or other blowing out of the engine manifold under the hood? I am wondering whether this is EGR related.
