Another dumb oil capacity question 850 1995

I like to check it in the morning.

Our 3 850s all read consistently at full if left overnight, they were a little over full for the first two months after an oil change, and sometimes I had to add a bit after that to keep them full.

I added about 1 quart for 3333 miles - I had the oil changed at my dealer at that interval so that they were on schedule for their 10K service intervals.

Don't feel too bad - our brand new '12 XC 70 would measure a quart under a half hour after shut off, full after one day and almost one quart over if it sat for several days!

I was told that part of the engine was designed for a slow drain down.
