99% of the time this problem is caused by a shift lock micro switch that needs replacing. The center console has to be removed and a new switch installed on the right side, under the shifter. The part number is 9466028 and I think it is under $20. I am going to be shooting a photo sequence of the replacement of the shift micro switch, let me know if you would like a copy. The file sizes end up some what large. The sequence for the instrument cluster removeal is about 2.6Meg.
