There are trunk supports on both side and if you only replaced one, then the other may also be bad, one other note there are two types, with a trunk spoiler and without, the trunk spoiler shocks are stronger because of the added weight. The parts catalog calls them gas springs, the part number for the trunk with spoiler is 3512998, I couldn't find the non-spoiler.
