Re: Cd changer for 95 850 turbo ?? 850 1995

I haven't installed it yet, but I've done some research and this is what I've found:

www.sounddomain.com sells an Alpine CHM-S620 for $260, but they admit that they are not an authorized Alpine dealer. But they claim that they honor warranty through their distributor. This website also sells the Peripheral brand CD-changer adapter. I believe that for pre-1996, you need a model VOLALP adapter and this may cost only $50 or so. Check it.

My local Circuit City store also carries the same Alpine CD changer for $300 and the adapter for slightly less. They are factory authorized.

www.stinger-aamp.com describes the Peripheral brand adapter.

www.pie.net also sells an adapter.

As far as hooking it up, the connections are easy. The adapter fits right into a plug in the back of your radio and the other end of the adapter fits into the CD changer. These are the only hookup that you need. Locating the changer and the wiring is the difficult part. The CD changer is supposed to fit in the glove box. I do not know how to get the glove box out to drill the appropriate holes. I do not know how to mount it in the trunk.
