All Wheel Drive 2nd Warning V70-XC70 All

Earlier I posted a message about the need for all 4 tires to be the same size on the All Wheel Drive (AWD) Volvo's. My first encounter was a vechicle that had went to a tire shop and wanted to replace the two front tires, by mistake the tire shop pulled the wrong tire size. This one the tire shop had to eat. What happen is the front gearing was burned up in about 20-30 miles. Today we had a car stop in (they were visiting from out of state) complaining of a burnt oil smell. Well it turns out they had just had a 30K service and tires. The front had the contiential 205 55 R16 and the rear had new General 205 55 R16. The difference in manufacture, plus the Contientials had 30K on them was enough to burn up the front gearing in about 120 miles. The point of my story is, all tire have to be the same manufacture and size.
