Re: Oil dripping from rear of engine 850 94

Rick,

The discription you have given about your oil leak leads me to believe that your turbo return line, is leaking. If you look up from your drain plug just a little to the left, you can see a pipe going into the back of your block (it's actually the right side), from your block it goes up to the bottom of your turbo. What happens is there is an O ring in your block that needs replacing. To do the job you need, two parts, 1) 1397775 sealing ring and 2) 3514546 gasket. total cost should be less than $10.

First you remove the two hex screw/bolts that hold the pipe to the bottom of the turbo, next there is a brace/spacer holding the line you are intrested in to another pipe, undue the brace held with a 10mm socket and 10mm wrench to keep the other side from turning. Now the top of the pipe next to the turbo needs to be pulled free, there is a pipe in the way but you can force it out and then up to get the other end out of the block. Now you reach down in the hole in the block with your pinkie and you can pull out the old distorted o-ring. clean up both ends, the green gasket that goes on the top next to the turbo usually sticks to the turbo. If you need any further assistance send an E-mail.
