Re: power source for boost gauge V70-XC70 1998

The dealer wasn't able to find in the parts manual the part number

for the pins for connecting into the accessory connector; but a

technician remembered that there was a service bulletin, and found

it with all the necessary part number information.

Here is what the bulletin has...

Minitimer pins for 8-pin connector

P/N Conductor Size

969780-6 0.5 - 1.0 mm2

974313-9 1.0 - 2.5 mm2

968374-9 2.5 - 3.0 mm2

It also say...a 2.5-3.0 mm2 conductor should always be connected to

pin-1 (battery) of the 8-pin connector due to possible high current

intensity.

Translating the mm2 number into gauge, I think for a 16-gauge or

18-gauge wire, which I will use for the turbo boost gague, I will

be using 974313-9.
