and after all that - smoke from the dipstick 850 1995

Fair enough that you all want to know what was "done". I think the better way of writing it would be to explain that I wanted you to know that I had taken the advice of those who had responded to my post and "finished" my project.

What was done? I removed all of the emission items on the driver's side of the engine: AMM, air fliter, etc... to make it easier for me to access the intake manifold. At that point, I needed the help of a friend who is a mechanic to show me how to turn off the gas pressure line in order to safely pull off the intake manifold. He took out the Oil Box and showed me where the number on the top of the Oil Box was in order to contact the dealer, who did not have the part. I then called and searched the aftermarket and ordered the part - they had it the next day. I went and picked up the part and installed it. The Flame Trap was not there. (I have been told not to re-install it anyway.) Everything was then put back into place including the emission items, making sure that the vacuum connections were tight. The fuel line was then tightened (turned on) and battery re-connected. My son then started his car, which started.

The "done" was that the incredibly difficult project was finished and my word "done" should have been "Thank you." So "Thank you" Brickboard for your guidance on this challenging mechanical undertaking. I will know better next time.
