George,

You may be OK...I just happen to have the 850 transmission manual, the manual mentions the tool. The tool has an indentation on it, the mark on the switch is suppose ot align with the mark on the tool. This is done with the gear shift in Nuetral. After alignment, the screws are to be tightened to a torque of 25Nm (37 ft.lbs). Other then that, the instructions are for reinstalling the bracket for the dipstick pipe etc:....have you cleared the DTC's? That may be a clue after-the-fact if you don't get any more codes you could be OK! Hope this helps a bit...:)
