Lance - and all the other owners who have been experiencing the drive line vibration problem -
Yes - VCOA does try to act as an ombudsman in cases where owners have a widespread problem and seem unable to get an acknowledgement or resolution from VCNA. I have been following the various threads related to this particular problem as well as other threads related to non-responsiveness of the VCNA Customer Relations office. I have not been keeping good track of any data though and would like some assistance from all of you to try to determine the extent of this problem. The information I need is:
Specific Models/Equipment
Years
Any specific remedies that worked.
Please post this information as reponses to this posting so that the information will get sent to me as well as be available to all on the list. I have forwarded some information to VCNA and asked for a response on behalf of the members in my capacity as VCOA President. I will let you know when I get an answer. Specifically I have asked Volvo to do the engineering necessary to determine the cause of the problem (vibration and balancing is not rocket science - but does require some engineering expertise and appropriate instrumentation and testing) and to consider developing a fix that will solve (not cover up) the problem. To this end, I may need to provide some candidates that have the problem to be ginea pigs.
