Re: Front disk rotor life. S40-V40 1998

The rotors on the S/V40 may be a little harder to get because they ue a diferent size than normal.

The relevant data for 1996 and 1997 models (don't have 1998-99 model

info yet):

Front discs (ventilated):

diameter: either 256 or 281 mm

thickness when new: 24.0 mm

minimum required thickness when installing new pads: 22.1 mm

minimum required thickness: 21.5

Rear discs (massive):

diameter: 260 mm

thickness when new: 10 mm

minimum required thickness when installing new pads: 8.9 mm

minimum required thickness: 8.4

When the 'minimum required thickness' is reached then the discs should be changed for new ones.

There are very few part-suppliers here in Holland that have internet-searchable indexes, but I'll ask around for some parts.

Bye, Arno
