WHy such acceleration with light pedal applied S60

The V50 will fly like crazy when and only when you call upon it to fly. It is the acceleration in traffic that is the PITA on the V60.

On the S60, I'm not sure what the previous owner did but they were into performance. They rip some of the fins out of the drivers side heater vent to install a turbo boost gauge. So add in the K&N style air cleaner and the turbo gauge in all probability is wasn't a little old blue haired lady driver.
