96-97 R models and all 97 model 850's with alarms use a system that is different from the prior model 850's or the 70 series. It does have the flash on lock acknowledgement but does not have a readily accessible way to get the flash on unlock feature. It requires an electronic box onto which you plug the alarm module and change settings. This tool is not used in US dealers.
