Re: Almost Out of Warranty 850 1995

Dan,

Check that your recirculate button on the AC/heat is working. You should hear a definate difference in the sound of the blower when you push the recirculate button. Both our '93 and '96 850's have had broken recirculate damper levers. A plastic arm that activates the damper commonly breaks, and the damper remains closed (only fresh air enters car).

Other problems I have had on my '93 sedan (w/ 38k miles):

magnets fell off both rear deck speakers making them non-functional

upper engine mount bushing broke- replaced with IPD part

gas filler door lock motor fails intermittanly

power seatback tilt mechanism failed on driver's seat

paint peeling on roof trim strip

FM band is dead on SC-810 radio; AM, cassette, and CD controls work fine

throwout bearing on clutch is making noises- need new clutch

front sway bar bushings were shot at 37k miles

A/C cycles on and off frequently- don't know what is causing this...?

Obviously I'm not impressed with the reliability of the '93 model. Our '96 wagon has been much better in terms of problems. Hopefully the '95's were as well. Good luck.

Dave
