04 XC90 AWD rear wheels not enguaging XC90 2004

I've been searching forums for answers to the question on Swedespeed, volvoxc, turbobricks etc.

From what I have read and diagnosed, here is what I have:

*..FWD only...after front left axle came apart (fortunately at a very slow speed as I was climbing a slight incline), installed new axle still no AWD
*..Drive shaft to the rear dif is turning
*..12V power through pins 1 & 2 of DEM plug
*..Pump works with external power applied
*..I've read that there are hidden codes that can disable the rear DEM module
*..I've read that the module cannot be switched to another unless it is an exact match.

I am assuming that if there is power to the DEM, and the pumps will run (with external power), then It kinda sounds like the DEM is bad.

"If" the DEM has power getting to it through the plug, would it be safe to assume that hidden codes have NOT disabled the AWD?

I have thought about subscribing to VIDAS and downloading diagnostic software, however I don't know if this software will clear codes that don't show up in OBD II.

Does anyone have any insight that might be helpful?

Thanks!
