Squealing 2004 XC70 V70-XC70 2004

A couple quick comments:
Based on the information you provided on the noise, (back of car, when braking, etc) it sounds like when my wife's 2003 XC with 110K miles had a parking brake shoe de-laminate and become free in the braking assembly.

As to the issue of Transmission oil: You can buy the spec oil needed at a Toyota
dealer (and elsewhere, I am sure) for about 1/3 the cost of the Volvo
dealer.

Klaus should be on line soon with more details on both issues.
