Check Engine Light "AGAIN' V70-XC70 2001

If you call the dealer's Parts dept and ask nicely, they may be able to determine through the VIN if the tank is plastic or metal. Or, you might inspect the tank and make that determination yourself.

Clean off the liquid gasoline, start the engine, and try to determine where the leak is. The top of the fuel pump has plastic nipples and they can crack at the base. The seal usually only leaks when the tank is completely full, or full enough that when sloshed around, that the gasoline pushes up against the seal.

The XC has a saddle tank, meaning that there are two fuel pumps and a fuel line from the driver's side pump goes to the passenger side tank. The passenger side pump feeds the engine.

EDIT:

The p0442 is EVAP code. You probably have a broken "J" hose at the rear of the car.
