Re: Tire Rotation 850

ICQ>

Most tire 'experts' will tell you to regularly rotate your tires, and more often than Volvo recommends, which is every 10K miles. Actually, new tire wear must more quickly than older tires...Its like a new pencil eraser.....when brand new, it wears quickly, but after a while, this slows down.

Tire rack says to rotate first at 3500 miles when new, and slowly extending this to 5000 miles, and then eventually to 7500 miles.

But whatever the interval, you should rotate. Consider that , following your procedure, you will continually have less and less tread on your fronts than the rears, until you replace them. For safety, its best ideally to have as equal tread all round as possible, which is impossible with your scenario. Also, many people like to upgrade, or experiment with their choice of tires, and agan, this is only possible if you replace all together, which implies regular rotation to achieve equal wear.
